Hotel Indigo (Downtown Sarasota)
The Hotel Indigo has broken ground in downtown Sarasota. The hotel, a boutique concept chain owned by InterContinental Hotels Group, will be located at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Boulevard of the Arts. InterContinental also owns the Holiday Inn, Crown Plaza and Holiday Inn Express hotels.

This is only the third Hotel Indigo in existence, and the first one to be built from scratch – the other two, in Atlanta and Chicago (scheduled to open next month), are in renovated historic buildings. The Sarasota hotel will open in early 2006.
